Public Consultation for Visual Landscape Inventory Projects
Nechako River, Cripple Lake, and Otterson Lake

The Ministry of Forests, Lands, and Natural Resource Operations is conducting Visual Landscape Inventories (VLIs) along the Nechako River from Cheslatta Falls near Kenney Dam to Miworth (just west of Prince George), along the Holy Cross Road from Kenney Dam to Cheslatta Falls, and from the Cheslatta Falls trail. In addition, Cripple and Otterson Lakes, two small lakes north of Fort St. James, are being inventoried. The work is being carried out by the Ministry's contractor, RDI Resource Design Inc.

The purpose of VLI is to identify and classify visually sensitive landscapes on Crown lands leading to the setting of objectives for their management. Individual stakeholders, organizations, and the general public are encouraged to contact us.  The types of information being sought include important viewpoints and viewscapes, areas of special interest, types of activities, amount of use, and expectations for visual quality in the visible landscape pertaining to forest management.
